KipUp

Identity & one pager

Project overview
I am thrilled to showcase my latest project, with Schuttelaar & Partners, we aimed at revolutionizing the poultry industry. Introducing KipUP - a groundbreaking initiative focused on enhancing the well-being of our feathered friends.

Schuttelaar & Partners conceptualized and developed a digital tool to monitor and enhance the well-being of chickens. Previously known as KipKompas, our task was to breathe new life into this tool, leading to the birth of KipUP.

My role was to look beyond technology, and form an identity that initiate a movement ensuring that poultry farmers, poultry vets, and egg brands stay at the forefront of chicken welfare awareness.

Presenting

The concept
The name KipUP encapsulates our vision. "Kip," the Dutch word for chicken, merges seamlessly with "UP," meaning progress and elevation. Together, they represent the uplifting journey we envision for Improving Poultry Welfare in the poultry farming industry.

The keywords guiding the design were freshness and modernity. The vibrant colors of orange, pink, and blue were strategically chosen to make the chicken, our focal point, stand out and make it important.

The background imagery, featuring details of chicken feathers, symbolizes the health of a chicken: the prettier the feathers, the healthier the chicken!
Chosen heading font
ZT Shago, the chosen heading font, embodies playfulness, with subtle details relating a chicken's beak and comb, adding a touch of happiness to the design.
My approach
My approach began with a creative session with the client. I curated a list of questions to clarify the design briefing, and sketched a simple customer journey graphic on a flipover to help us during the session. I wrote down all remarks, so I could refer to the comments later when designing the identity and onepager.
Previous logo
Next, I took a deep dive into what was already there. I collected previous identity mood boards, the logo, and colors. First thing I noticed was that the overall identity was quite calm and safe. This needed to change!
Based on the remarks from the creative session with the client, I started designing moodboards, collecting inspiring images, matching colors, and sketchnig logo's and illustrations. To be honest, this identity came very quickly to me. My design muze took over and within a day I had the basic outlines of the identity ready. Ready to present to the client!

I presented the identity with various mockups to give the client an idea on how the identity would look like on actual materials. The client absolutely loved it. Yes!

Looking back at the design process now, I'm genuinely happy with the huge contrast between the before and after. You too right? ;)
Where it all comes together
Within the one pager, the visual identity harmoniously comes together, striking a nice balance between compelling copy, bold chicken illustrations, and prominent pillar icons. Together, these elements create a visually engaging one pager that captures the essence of the KipUP method.
